19th Century Sailor’s Woolie of a Topsail Schooner, circa 1860, sailing under topsails, mainsail and jibs, with furled foresail, flying the White Ensign at stern, on wild cresting ocean waves, under bright, complicated cloudy sky, set between Doric Columns and draped Theater Curtains, beneath the British Crown and arrayed flags of Britain, America, France and Austria. The woolwork has a brilliant almost golden sheen, and is mounted in its original rosewood veneered frame with gilded filet. Really quite strikingly beautiful woolie.

The woolwork remains in excellent condition with no discernible fading or damage. The frame also remains in very fine condition, with just a nice touch of tarnish to the gilding on the filet.
