The statue is in very strong, stable condition. The missing limbs were almost certainly wings; their absence feels natural and gives a powerful impression of classical antiquity. The well worn paint is also in strong and stable condition, and has developed the soft, warm patina that only three centuries can provide. The figure was carved to kneel, but there is also an old hook eye on the back suggesting that the figure may also have been suspended from above. It is mounted on a modern ebonized stand.
