19th Century Sailor’s Woolie of a Ship-Rigged Naval Auxiliary Steamer, circa 1860, a sailor’s woolwork depicting a larboard-side view of a double-decker ship-rigged auxiliary steam sailor, under bare poles with fully furled sails but steaming along fast enough to create a good bow wave and wake, with white pennant flying at mizzen peak and white ensign at the stern; mounted in original faux burl veneered frame.
The woolie is in very good condition, with no significant damage noted, other than perhaps a few pulls to the yarn and the expected overall fading. The frame has some veneer loss along edges.
