18th or early 19th century pine kitchen shelf, likely to be from Pennsylvania, circa 1780, having a stylish fluted crest and apron influenced by classic Chippendale flame finials, with a cradle for holding a mortar and pestle, flanked by space for holding plates, on a shelf pierced to hold spoons, above the apron with one central narrow drawer (typically used to hold spices for grinding, like cinnamon and nutmeg).

The shelf retains its dark red paint and remains in excellent condition.
