19th Century Plein Air Shore Scene, American School, circa 1870s, an oi on canvas coastal seascape in the Romantic style, almost Barbizon, with autumn hues across the dunes, figures on the strand in the foreground, a lighthouse in the background and sails on the horizon, unsigned. The scene is very reminiscent of the North shore Chord of the Bay on Nantucket (but is not).
