19th Century Sailor’s Woolie Starboard-Side View of a Four Masted Ship Under Full Sail, circa 1880 – one of a matched pair. The ship has all sails set including staysails aft of the mizzen, false gun ports along side, copper-clad bottom, and a pennant flying at the fourth peak. Most interestingly, white glass seed beads have been used as the ship’s blocks throughout the rigging.

19th Century Sailor’s Woolie Starboard-Side View of a Four Masted Ship Under Full Sail, circa 1880 – one of a matched pair – this one a starboard-side view of a large four-masted ship-rigged vessel under full sail approaching a lighthouse on a point. The ship has all sails set including staysails aft of the mizzen, false gun ports along side, copper-clad bottom, and a pennant flying at the fourth peak. Most interestingly, white glass seed beads have been used as the ship’s blocks throughout the rigging. The woolie is mounted in the original faux tortoise-shell frame with gilded edge and filet.

The woolwork remains in great condition.
