19th Century Campaign Chest of Drawers, circa 1860, a brass-bound teak chest made in two parts: the top section has a rectangular surface above a full drawer over two side-by-side drawers, the full drawer having a drop front which reveals a desk with tooled leather writing surface backed by five pigeon holes flanked by four narrow light teak drawers; the bottom section has two full drawers, raised on low bracket feet; having brass bound corners throughout, recessed brass drawer pulls, and brass bail side handles.

The chest is in great solid condition. The teak wood (probably Indonesian teak by its grain and color) has remained strong and undamaged, with only some slight spots of discoloration from use over the years. The brass side handles have replaced bails. The desk drawer is a little tight but can easily be made smoother, and the brass clasps which fasten the drop-front are a little difficult.
