Antique American 45 Star Flag, circa 1896, marking the admission of Utah into the Union as the 45th state in 1896. This was an official flag of the United States for only twelve years. This is a printed cheesecloth flag with an unusual 8-7-8-7-8-7 arrangement of the stars on the canton.

Antique American 45 Star Flag, circa 1896, marking the admission of Utah into the Union as the 45th state in 1896. This was an official flag of the United States for only twelve years. This is a printed cheesecloth flag with an unusual 8-7-8-7-8-7 arrangement of the stars on the canton.
The flag remains in quite good condition, with only about four small holes and a minor amount of staining or darkening. It has been conservation mounted in a contemporary bird’s eye maple frame.
