19th Century New England Bushel Basket

19th Century New England Woven Splint Bushel Basket, circa 1880, having wide splint staves held between the split oak rim by square cut nails, and carved into a double arrow shape to cross each other on the bottom; the splint weave ends with an interior concave bell; the carved oak swing handle is held by metal rivets through the split oak rim. A beautiful basket in very good, strong condition, with one incomplete break to a weaver.
