19th Century Folk Art Fish Weather Vane. A carved in-the-round wooden fish weather vane, likely from a fish shanty in the late 19th century, with carved detail to the mouth, eyes, gills, and dorsal, pectoral, adipose, anal and tail fins. The fish is very heavily worn and eroded, with weathered remnants of a very dark green paint, and loss to fins. Great dry and crusty patina. Mounted with an iron rod on driftwood base.

The weather vane has that wonderful antique Folk Art look and attitude that can’t be faked. A proud old relic.

Measures: 10-3/4 in high x 15-5/8 in length x 1-1/8 in width (4-1/4 in wide on base).
