19th Century Sailor’s Folk Art Woolie of a Square-Rigged Ship, circa 1850, a sailor’s folk art hand stitched wool yarn picture of a British single decker Ship of the Line, flying the Ensign of the White Fleet off the spanker gaff, and an admiral’s pennant at the main peak, approaching a red and white striped lighthouse. Nice big and bold vessel that well fills the frame.
The woolie is in pretty good condition with very strong colors. There are a number of yarn ends raised above the weave though I don’t think they detract from the beautiful woolie. Mounted in the great original heavy rosewood frame.
