19th Century Regency Style Burl Wood Wine Cellarette, circa 1880, a round stand with burl wood rim and carved delicate baluster turned and barley twist spindles, holding a hand crafted brass liner, on discoid base raised on four ball feet. Such stand were used in the dining room to hold and chill bottles of wine ready at hand to serve, thus a “cellarette” or little wine cellar.

Cellarettes are not that common on the market, having been such a specialized accessory not found in that many houses in their day. Ones of this delicate form are particularly scarce. It remains in remarkable condition, with a repair to only one barley twist spindle.
