Large Antique “Tramp Art” Chip Carved Mirror, circa 1900, a hand crafted frame made of graduated layers of sawtooth cut thin board rising to peaked ridges. Like all folk art of this nature, the piece was made with reclaimed wood: likely pine for the chip carving, on a bed of hardwood likely from a shipping crate (bearing writing on the reverse that suggest a Connecticut origin).

Large Antique “Tramp Art” Chip Carved Mirror, circa 1900, a hand crafted frame made of graduated layers of sawtooth cut thin board rising to peaked ridges. The frame remains in excellent condition and has built up a truly wonderful, dark honey patina. The mirrored glass is modern.
