Michigan Bob-Tail Style Cork Canvasback Drake Decoy, circa 1940s-1950s, an extremely intriguing decoy with a large, superbly carved wooden head with elegant contours, eye grooves, glass eyes, and carved details to bill including mandibles, nares and nail, mounted with distinct turn to the right, on cork body carved in the Michigan “bob-tail” style, with thin bottom board and keel with thin lead weight. The body has a rectangular “patch” which is probably original to the carving to allow the head to be deeply set in the cork.

The condition overall is very good, with just the expected rubs to the paint on head, and the normal chips and minor loss to the cork from use.

Measures: 8-1/2 in H x 13-1/2 in L x 7-1/4 in W.
