Antique Japanese Pearl Diver’s Deep Sea Diving Helmet, circa 1920s or 1930s

Antique Japanese Pearl Diver’s Deep Sea Diving Helmet, by the Yokohama Diving Apparatus Company, circa 1920s or 1930s, a cast and hammered bronze three light helmet with 12 bolts and characteristic small breastplate and guarded side windows; also has an air duct with non-return valve, a telephone gooseneck, and a spitcock.

In very good and very used condition, plenty of hard knocks added to the original hand hammered surface, and a very deep, dark patina.

The Yokohama Diving Company was in operation for over 100 years, but unfortunately is no longer in business.
