Pinky schooners, or pinks, were a unique style of vessel built mostly in Maine and Massachusetts having a sharp double-ended hull featuring a sharply pinched or “pinked” stern. Handy as fishing vessels, they were extremely seaworthy and handled well in rough waters.<\/p>\n
James McAuliffe was a Canadian born artist who worked primarily in the North of Boston area, and was known particularly for his seascapes and church paintings.<\/p>\n
The painting remains in very good condition.<\/p>\n
