Very Scarce Ship’s Figural Transom Carving, Early to Mid 19th Century, a hand carved and hand painted figural plaque of an elegant woman in blue dress with gold lapel and white lace neck and bodice, with elaborately coiffed hair and extravagant golden earrings. A left-facing bust, it would have been accompanied by a matching right-facing bust flanking a central carving on the stern of a ship.

Very Scarce Ship’s Figural Transom Carving, Early to Mid 19th Century, a hand carved and hand painted figural plaque of an elegant woman in blue dress with gold lapel and white lace neck and bodice, with elaborately coiffed hair and extravagant golden earrings. A left-facing bust, it would have been accompanied by a matching right-facing bust flanking a central carving on the stern of a ship. A great piece of ship’s carving that is very rarely encountered.
The plaque remains in very good condition and the old working paint remains bright and strong.
